At Paris-Orly airport (ORY), the “Primeclass Lounge” is an airline-independent waiting lounge accessible to all passengers boarding from gates F of terminal 4 to destinations outside the Schengen area.
I visited this lounge on Sunday 10 July 2022, using my DragonPass card, before a Tunisair economy class flight taking off in the evening for Djerba.
Location, opening hours and entry rules
The Primeclass Lounge is mainly open to Air Algérie, Air Caraïbes, Corsair, Royal Air Maroc and Tunisair passengers travelling in business class or with a top tier level in these airlines’ frequent flyer programs.
Holders of Sapphire or Emerald status in the loyalty program of an airline member of the Oneworld alliance also have access to the lounge when boarding Royal Air Maroc.
Economy class customers of Air Caraïbes, Corsair and Frenchbee can purchase a lounge pass from their carrier.
In addition, all members of the independent DragonPass or TAV Passport networks are welcome, with no restrictions in terms of airline, class of travel or status. Please note that Priority Pass members are not currently eligible.
After crossing the border, continue down the central aisle, then take the corridor between the Bert’s restaurant and the Fnac store. An elevator and stairs on the right take you to the 3rd floor of the terminal, where the Primeclass Lounge is located. The lounge is open daily from 07:00 to 21:00.
Facilities and catering
The Primeclass Lounge is a rectangular room with a terrace on two sides offering a panoramic view of the tarmac and runway 3 in the background.
The room is traditionally equipped with sofas and club armchairs around coffee tables. Work areas with desks along the bay window or counters in the center of the room are also provided. There’s no lack of electrical outlets: integrated into the seating, placed on or under furniture and on the floor.
On the terrace, you can enjoy the sunshine in the wooden armchairs while watching the planes move. This outdoor area is smoking.
The Primeclass Lounge offers a relatively generous, qualitative and regularly replenished self-service buffet. Salty items include mini-sandwiches, salad ingredients, several cheeses, turkey ham, quiche and croque-monsieur slices, as well as chicken in sauce and rice. On the sweet side, bread and pancakes with jam or spread, slices of chocolate marble cake, an assortment of fresh fruit, fruit salad and yoghurts. Still and sparkling water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, various soft drinks and fruit juices, wine and spirits are available.
Internet access is available via Wi-Fi, and the connection works well both on the dedicated access point in the lounge and on the general airport network.
Opinion
Open since autumn 2021, the Primeclass Lounge is an enhancement for premium customers at Orly 4. Services are of a higher standard than those offered by the former Icare lounge. It’s worth noting that the lounge is not necessarily ideal for isolation, as it can be crowded when several wide-body aircraft are departing.
