Air France and KLM ‘s Flying Blue loyalty program is offering all members a bonus of up to 80% additional miles on miles purchased until 9 March 2025. I’ll tell you how to take advantage of this attractive promotion.
Buying miles can be useful to top up an insufficient balance in order to book an award ticket or obtain any other reward in the program.
Flying Blue miles are sold in euros, US dollars and British pounds. The default currency of payment is determined by Flying Blue according to the member’s country of residence, but you can choose your preferred payment currency by adjusting the localization setting of the website.
Flying Blue usually sells its miles in blocks of 2,000 miles:
- at EUR 52 / USD 63.40 / GBP 46.40 per block for purchases between 2,000 and 8,000 miles, i.e. EUR 0.026 / USD 0.0317 / GBP 0.0232 per mile
- at EUR 50 / USD 61 / GBP 44.60 per block for purchases of 10,000 miles or more, i.e. EUR 0.025 / USD 0.0305 / GBP 0.0223 per mile.
Flying Blue Explorer members can acquire up to 100,000 miles per calendar year. Flying Blue members with Elite status (Silver, Gold, Platinum) can purchase miles with no annual limit.
During this special limited-time offer:
- buy between 4,000 and 8,000 miles and be rewarded with a bonus of 60% extra miles (price per mile after bonus EUR 0.0162 / USD 0.0198 / GBP 0.0145)
- buy 10,000 miles and be rewarded with a bonus of 60% extra miles (price per mile EUR 0.0156 / USD 0.0191 / GBP 0.0139)
- buy between 12,000 and 22,000 miles and be rewarded with a bonus of 70% extra miles (price per mile EUR 0.0147 / USD 0.0179 / GBP 0.0132)
- the maximum bonus of 80% is granted from 24,000 miles purchased (price per mile EUR 0.0139 / USD 0.0169 / GBP 0.0124).
For example, a member who purchases 100,000 miles will benefit from an 80% bonus and will see his Flying Blue account credited with 180,000 miles (bonus miles are not included in the annual purchase limit). For Flying Blue Elite members, the bonus is capped at 240,000 miles for 300,000 miles paid.
Before purchasing miles, even on the occasion of a sale like this one, make sure that the desired award ticket is available and that the transaction is profitable (redemption value of the mile greater than or equal to its purchase price).
To take advantage of the promotion, go to the miles purchase page on the Flying Blue website (menu Manage my miles > Buy Miles). If you are not already logged in to your Flying Blue account, you will need to authenticate yourself.

Simply select the number of Flying Blue miles you wish to purchase from the drop-down menu and proceed to payment.
Buy Flying Blue miles with 80% bonus
Although a 72-hour processing time is announced, the miles (base and any bonus) are usually deposited into the member’s Flying Blue account within minutes of payment.
The promotion does not allow miles to be gifted by crediting a third party’s account.
Buying miles does not extend the validity period of miles already on account for Explorer members.
