Flying Blue: miles overdraft to get an award ticket

The Flying Blue loyalty program led by Air France and KLM grants an overdraft to members who have reached Platinum and Ultimate status, enabling them to get an award ticket without having enough miles. I’ll tell you how to take advantage of an advance of up to 100,000 miles.

What is the Flying Blue miles overdraft?

To qualify for an award flight, a popular reward in the frequent flyer program, it was previously necessary to accumulate the full number of miles required.

In September 2024, Flying Blue introduces the “miles overdraft”.

Miles overdraft allows eligible Flying Blue members to purchase an award ticket without having the full number of miles required for the chosen flights. In other words, in the same way as a bank overdraft, a Flying Blue account can have a negative miles balance after a reward ticket has been issued.
