The Luxair Lounge is the only lounge for all passengers departing from Luxembourg-Findel airport (LUX).

I visited this lounge mid-day on Friday 30 December 2022, using my DragonPass card, while waiting for a British Airways flight to London in economy class.

Location, opening hours and entry rules

All passengers travelling in business class on airlines operating at Luxembourg airport are welcome at the Luxair Lounge. Depending on the perks of the loyalty program to which they belong, frequent flyers with the appropriate status may also have access to the lounge when traveling in economy class.

Members of the Priority Pass and DragonPass networks are also welcome, irrespective of the airline and class of travel.

The Luxair Lounge is open daily from 04:00 to 21:00 (closing at 18:00 on Saturdays). It is located on the ground floor of the terminal, immediately after the screening checkpoints.

Facilities and catering

The Luxair Lounge is a bright rectangular room overlooking the runway.

The space is laid out to satisfy different moods. The center of the room is equipped with several bunches of tables and chairs for dining, a counter and height chairs for working, and several armchairs for reading and relaxing. Both sides of the room and the bay window are lined with club armchairs flanking small coffee tables. Electrical outlets are everywhere, mainly under floor hatches.

The Wi-Fi internet connection works well.
Local business and lifestyle publications are available, as are Luxair and LuxairTours magazines and catalogs.

Throughout the day, rhe self-service buffet offers an assortment of cold meats, smoked salmon, cheese and raw vegetables, as well as pastries, fruit and sweets.
For breakfast, scrambled eggs with bacon complete the base service.
Lunch is served with a traditional Luxembourg soup: “bouneschlupp”, made with green beans, potatoes and sausages.
The national production is also in the spotlight for beverages, with a selection of Luxembourg wines, crémants (sparkling wines), beers and waters. International spirits, French wine, sodas, fruit juices, coffee and tea are also available.

Opinion

Luxembourg airport is mainly served by regional flights, with business travelers accounting for a significant proportion of passengers. In this context, the Luxair Lounge offers a more comfortable place to wait for your flight than the boarding gates, but it can fill up quickly at strategic times.

The facilities are functional, whether for relaxing or working. The buffet, regularly replenished, is consistent and qualitative. The clearing and cleaning of tables appears more approximate, as it is carried out in waves rather than as passengers leave.

What is your experience of Luxair’s airport lounge in Luxembourg?
